24th anniversary of the death of legendary commanders Miralem Jugo and Huso Imamović marked

By laying flowers and reciting Fatiha, the 24th anniversary of the tragic death of commander of the 49th Mountain Brigade Huso Imamović and commander of the 47th Mountain Brigade of the 4th Corps of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina Miralem Jugo, recipient of the highest wartime recognition "Golden Lily" badge, and his sister Amira Jugo, was marked today at Mostar's Šehitluci, reports Patria News Agency.

Military Imam of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ibrahim ef. Ćatić, in his address, stated that Miralem Jugo and Huso Imamović were a product of difficult times and a harsh historical moment when it was necessary to show courage, bravery, and readiness to sacrifice the most sacred thing for the ideals of their homeland and the freedom of their people, which was their own lives.

- Through their example, they best taught us all lessons in patriotism, lessons in love for the homeland. They showed us how to love, defend, and protect one's homeland. Today, as we remember their figures and noble deeds, we also remember the sacrifice of all our Bosnian martyrs who fell in defense of this homeland - said Ćatić.

Šerif Bojčić, president of the Association "Return for Bosnia and Herzegovina," emphasized in his address that all those who died in the defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina are guarantors of freedom and the historical continuity of the state of BiH.

- Therefore, let it not be difficult for us to remember their figures and deeds at least once a year, because they deserved much more than that - said Bojčić.

- Mostar's Šehitluci, as well as other cemeteries, have more such heroes and patriots. We must not allow those of us who remained alive and the new generations to forget the period from 1992 to 1995 - said Šerif Bojčić at today's commemoration of the tragic deaths of two great Herzegovinian heroes, Miralem Jugo and Huso Imamović.

Delegations of veterans' associations, family members, friends, and numerous citizens of Mostar attended the commemoration, and after visiting Šehitluci, a visit was also made to the "Miralem Jugo" barracks in Livče.

Jugo and Imamović tragically died on 07.09.1993 in a traffic accident on the road to the command of the IV Corps, where they were supposed to assume higher command functions in the units of the Army of BiH.
