22nd Sad Anniversary of Dobrinja Massacre Marked

Deputy Chairman of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly Sabahudin Delić and Minister of Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection of KS Čedomir Lukić today laid flowers at the monument located in the parking lot between Trg djece Dobrinje and Grada Bakua street in Dobrinja, in memory of 15 Sarajevo residents killed, reports the Patria News Agency.

At this fatal place, 22 years ago, during an Eid football tournament, shrapnel from grenades fired from positions in the direction of Veljine killed: Atif Bajraktarević, Mirza Deljković, Alija Godinjak, Alija Gojak, Adnan Mirvić, Kemal Mulaahmetović, Dragan Osadčij, Refik Ramić, Jusuf Razić, Munir Sabanić, Adel Selmanović, Danijel Šolaja, Damir Trebo, Asim Zagorica, and Marko Žižić.

- We gathered at the site of the terrible crime that happened here twenty-two years ago, to remember the dead and to warn the living. Forgetting is a great sin, forgetting is complicity in the crime. We owe it to the victims and are obliged to cherish their memories with respect, for ourselves and for our children - said Minister Lukić on this occasion.

On the occasion of this sad date, their families, representatives of the City of Sarajevo, Municipality of Novi Grad Sarajevo, JOB Union of Veterans Novi Grad, Coordination of Veteran Organizations of Municipality Novi Grad, First Dobrinja Brigade, local community, third-grade students of Primary School "Osman Nuri Hadžić" and boys from FK Dobrinja gathered at the site of the suffering of our fellow citizens, paid tribute and laid flowers by reciting Fatiha and observing a minute of silence.
