A delegation of the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs and a delegation of the Federal Police Administration of the Federal MUP laid flowers at the memorial monument in Alipaša Street in the Sarajevo settlement of Ciglane, at the site of the death of the former Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Jozo Leutar, at the Monument to the Murdered Children of Besieged Sarajevo, and in front of the Memorial Plaque of the "Training Center for Police Cadres Mahir Begić" in Suhodol.
A ceremonial marking of July 1st – "Police Day in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina" was held at the Police Hall in Sarajevo. The ceremony began with the lining up of police echelons and the submission of a report to the Federal Minister of Internal Affairs Ramo Isak.
After a minute of silence was observed in honor of all fallen police officers, the Director of the Federal Police Administration Vahidin Munjić, Federal Minister of Internal Affairs Ramo Isak, and Prime Minister of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nermin Nikšić addressed the attendees.
Director Munjić stated in his address that, given that he has been heading the Federal Police Administration of the Federal MUP only recently, this period has been marked by good and positive trends in preventing all forms of crime.
"I must emphasize that the Federal Police Administration of the Federal MUP has strong support from the Federal Minister of Internal Affairs Ramo Isak when it comes to strengthening professional standards, as well as better equipping the police. In a short time, the Federal Police Administration of the Federal MUP has managed to intensify its activities and thus confirm that we enjoy the trust of our citizens. We have succeeded in increasing the subjective sense of security, which is probably more important than all other statistical indicators," said Munjić.
"We have initiated activities on adopting new laws and bylaws and amending existing ones. Here, I would particularly emphasize the importance of adopting the Law on Police Officers and the Law on Internal Affairs in the Federation of BiH, which are particularly important for strengthening the position of police officers, as well as for expanding our jurisdiction in line with modern challenges," Isak pointed out.
The Prime Minister of the Federation of FBiH, Nermin Nikšić, also addressed the attendees, stating, "We will do everything in our power to justify your trust, to improve your position, as well as the level of material and technical resources. We know that you are the image of the Federation, and we will do everything to make that image a pride for all citizens of this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as for all inhabitants of our country."
After the appropriate addresses, a short film was shown to the attendees, depicting the training process of cadets at the Police Academy of the Federal MUP, as well as impressive details of police operations carried out by members of the Federal Police Administration of the Federal MUP.
At the ceremonial ceremony, the names of employees to whom Minister Isak and Director Munjić presented awards and recognitions for their exceptional contribution to work and the results they achieved in the past period were read out.
In addition to Minister Isak and Director Munjić, representatives of the legislative, executive, and judicial authorities, representatives of international organizations and embassies, media representatives, and numerous citizens attended the ceremonial marking of Police Day.
