Commemoration of the Anniversary of the Old Bridge Reconstruction: Peace Award Ceremony

The Center for Peace and Interfaith Cooperation from Mostar will today, on the anniversary of the Old Bridge reconstruction, host the awarding of the International Peace Award "Mostar Peace Connection" to the members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and posthumously to the former President of the Republic of Turkey, Suleyman Demirel, and the former Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Ivica Račan, reports the Patria News Agency.

This award is presented every year on the occasion of the anniversary of the Old Bridge reconstruction to individuals who have contributed to the reconstruction and building of the Old Bridge through their actions. In previous years, the award has been received by, among others, Nelson Mandela, Václav Havel, Alois Mock, Mohamed ElBaradei, and Irina Bokova.

The award ceremony will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2015, in Mostar on the terrace of the "Labirint" restaurant.

The members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina will previously be at the Old Bridge at 8 PM, where a suitable program and a diver's jump will be held in honor of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina as the general patron of the 449th traditional jumps from the Old Bridge. After that, the composition "Emina" will be performed by Ivan Bevanda, a member of the Mostar Symphony Orchestra, on the trumpet.

After visiting the Old Bridge, the formal award ceremony - PEACE AWARD - will be held at the Labirint restaurant.
