Customs from the Austro-Hungarian period revived in the Gazi Husrev-beg Library

A photo exhibition titled "Old Sarajevo" has been set up in the Gazi Husrev-beg Library in Sarajevo, as part of the First Sarajevo Ramadan Festival organized by Sarajevo Navigator and ZUP Baščaršija, in cooperation with the Library, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

For this exhibition, 30 photographs were selected from the photo archive of the Gazi Husrev-beg Library, depicting people, events, costumes, cultural objects, and parts of old Sarajevo, mostly from the Austro-Hungarian period.

The aim of the exhibition is to show and remind visitors through photographs of what this city once looked like, what the customs, traditions, and daily life of its inhabitants were like then. The author of the exhibition is Ahmed Mehmedović, who manages the photo archive at the Gazi Husrev-beg Library. The exhibition will be open until the beginning of September 2014.

Until the end of Ramadan, i.e., until the end of July, the exhibition can be viewed every working day from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and during August from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

At the same time, visitors can also view the permanent exhibition of displayed manuscripts and printed books, reports Patria.
