The sitting volleyball team defeated the Brazilian team 3:1, thus winning the gold medal at the World Championship in the Polish city of Elbląg, reports the BH News Agency Patria.
16 national teams participated, divided into four groups. The BiH team was placed in Group C with the teams of Brazil, Croatia, and Kazakhstan.
They played their first match on June 15 against Kazakhstan with a 3:0 victory, on June 16 against the Brazilian team also 3:0, and on June 17 against Croatia with the same result. After a day off, they played the quarter-finals against Germany 3:1, and yesterday in the semi-finals they played against the Egyptian team and defeated them 3:0, and today they defeated the Brazilian team again.
For Bosnia and Herzegovina in Poland, the players were: Sabahudin Delalić (captain), Asim Medić, Dževad Hamzić, Adnan Manko, Safet Alibašić, Ismet Godinjak, Mirzet Duran, Nizam Čančar, Benis Kadrić, Adnan Kešmer, Ermin Jusufović, and Muhamed Kapetanović, under the leadership of coach Mirza Hrustemović, reports NAP.
Congratulations to our volleyball players, and all those who wish to welcome them can do so tomorrow at Sarajevo Airport at 12:25 PM, when their return from Poland is scheduled, reports Patria.
