UKC Tuzla searched over linear accelerator procurement

(Patria) - Investigators of the Criminal Police Sector of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tuzla Canton (TK), at the proposal of the TK Prosecutor's Office and by order of the Cantonal Court of Tuzla, today searched the premises of UKC Tuzla and other locations.

During the search, relevant material documentation and other items and evidence related to the procurement procedure for a linear accelerator, CT simulator, and other accompanying equipment necessary for the treatment of oncological patients at the Clinic for Oncology and Radiotherapy of UKC Tuzla were seized.

Earlier, the Appeals Review Office accepted the appeal of certain suppliers that the tender specification for the devices, as set, prevented competition, meaning that the parameters set for the CT simulator and linear accelerator were such that only one bidder met the offer, according to the TK Prosecutor's Office.

This is a continuation of intensive checks and investigative actions to determine whether someone is being favored among the suppliers.

In further work on the case, the Prosecutor's Office will conduct necessary expert examinations, hear a certain number of persons as witnesses, and undertake other necessary investigative actions.
