The Independent Board of the BiH Parliament should discuss the suspension of Goran Zubac, director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), early next week, confirmed for the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP) Enes Obralija, a member of the Independent Board. Zubac is charged with negligent work in service, during the demonstrations on February 7 this year.
- At our last session on Wednesday last week, we concluded that we would hold a special meeting in 7 to 10 days to consider this case. I expect this to happen as soon as possible - says Obralija.
According to him, he has a clear position that it is necessary, after the indictment is confirmed, to carry out a suspension, but he points out that this position must also be supported by other members of the Independent Board.
- We will hold a discussion and I believe vote on the suspension. Whether that decision will be made, I do not know. But, out of nine members, 7 must be in favor for a decision to be made, which means there must be at least one vote from each constituent people - explains Obralija.
As he points out, the Independent Board is accountable for its work to the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, and he expects that all members will approach this case responsibly, reports Patria.
