NUNS condemns Informer's campaign against Dino Merlin

The Independent Association of Journalists of Serbia (NUNS) today published a statement on its website condemning the campaign of the tabloid "Informer" directed against Dino Merlin. Their statement is fully reproduced by the Patria News Agency.

 

The Independent Association of Journalists of Serbia (NUNS) condemns the multi-day witch hunt that the tabloid "Informer" is conducting against the singer from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dino Merlin, using primitive nationalist rhetoric based on falsehoods.

Despite the denial from Dino Merlin, as well as from "Kombank Arena", "Informer" persistently insisted that the entry of Serbian flags into the concert was prohibited.

Printing the flag of the Republic of Serbia on the last page of "Informer" is, to say the least, not in accordance with the Law on the Appearance and Use of the Coat of Arms, Flag, and Anthem. The use of the flag as a state symbol, in the context of a primitive campaign against Dino Merlin, "Informer" insults the morality, reputation, and dignity of the Republic of Serbia, which is prohibited by this law, it was announced from NUNS.
