NSRS supports Željka Cvijanović's veto with opposition votes

(Patria) - A special session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska was held today in Banja Luka regarding the veto of the Chairwoman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović.

Support for Cvijanović's veto on the conclusions adopted at the session of the Presidency of BiH by her colleagues Denis Bećirović and Željko Komšić was given this evening by 64 deputies, while five were against.

Before the session, the leader of the PDP, Draško Stanivuković, announced that the party he leads would support the veto, and the SDS also indicated the same.

During her address, Cvijanović said she initiated the mechanism for the protection of vital entity interests because she believes that the institutional response through the NSRS is "the best barrier to attempts to use the Presidency of BiH for political scores."

The leader of Republika Srpska and the SNSD, Milorad Dodik, said that the deputies of that party would support Cvijanović's veto, just as they had done before, adding that "it is not about protecting Cvijanović, but a member of the Presidency of BiH and the voice of Republika Srpska."

The first man of the NSRS, Nenad Stevandić, claimed that this concerns the vital national interest of Republika Srpska, which must be protected.

The Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Radovan Višković, emphasized that "the disputed conclusions of two members of the Presidency of BiH, Denis Bećirović and Željko Komšić, should be rejected today because they are unconstitutional and a provocation towards Republika Srpska, its institutions, and its citizens."

Višković added that "the disputed conclusions, which are being discussed today, lead to the subordination of the entity, which is unacceptable."

- If we now show that Bećirović and Komšić are stronger than Republika Srpska by dragging someone from the opposition into their goals, what have we shown by that? - asked Stevandić.

In his speech, the president of the List for Justice and Order, Nebojša Vukanović, stated that such sessions have long lost their meaning.

He emphasized that the institution of the NSRS is completely degraded, and the public is increasingly laughing at them due to the inefficiency of the decisions made.

- We passed a law to ban the work of SIPA, the Court, and the Prosecutor's Office, and they are still arresting people in Republika Srpska. What are those laws for, when you don't even respect them yourselves?

At the entrance to the Assembly, I was greeted by Schmidt's decision - and you are implementing it. You created a republic election commission, then withdrew it. You did the same with the medicines agency - added Vukanović.

Let us recall, the Presidency of BiH, with the votes of Bećirović and Komšić, in its conclusions, among other things, condemned the unconstitutional and unlawful conduct of the Government of the entity of Republika Srpska and the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, towards the German Minister for Europe and Climate, Anna Lührmann.

One of them is also the conclusion within the item "Consideration of the internal political situation in BiH regarding the attack by the authorities of the entity of Republika Srpska on the constitutional order of BiH." This conclusion calls on EUFOR to assist police agencies in BiH in arresting officials from Republika Srpska.
