NSRS to vote again tomorrow on referendum results that landed Dodik on US blacklist

Deputies of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska will vote again on Tuesday on the results of the unconstitutional referendum held in the BiH entity of Republika Srpska on September 25, 2016, in which citizens in this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, despite the ban by the Constitutional Court of BiH, expressed whether they support January 9 being celebrated as the Day of RS.

The question on the unconstitutional referendum was: "Do you support January 9 being celebrated and observed as the Day of RS?“ The Constitutional Court of BiH had previously banned the holding of this referendum, but the authorities from Banja Luka did not comply with the Court's decision.

The United States imposed sanctions, i.e., placed the president of the BiH entity of Republika Srpska and the president of the SNSD, Milorad Dodik, on the blacklist precisely because of non-compliance with the decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH, i.e., for conducting the unconstitutional referendum.

The report of the Commission for the Conduct of the Referendum was already adopted once in the NSRS, but was returned to the RS parliament after the Council for the Protection of Vital National Interests of the Constitutional Court of RS, on December 6 last year, determined that the assembly's decisions on this matter, before consideration in the Council of Peoples of RS, were published in the „Official Gazette of RS“.

This was pointed out by the Bosniak Club in the Council of Peoples of RS.

Deputies will now vote again on the results of the unconstitutional referendum, Patria reports.
