NSRS votes on Željka Cvijanović's veto, SDS still without final decision on how to vote

(Patria) - On Friday, a session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska will be held where MPs will vote on the veto of BiH Presidency member Željka Cvijanović on the conclusion of the BiH Presidency which was adopted without her vote by Željko Komšić and Denis Bećirović.

After the conclusion was adopted, Cvijanović initiated a veto, and a session of the NSRS was scheduled. The conclusion concerns the “escalation of attacks by the institutions of the entity Republika Srpska on the fundamental provisions of the Dayton Peace Agreement and the endangerment of the constitutional and legal order of BiH”.

For the veto to receive support, 56 out of 83 MPs need to vote in favour.

From the opposition SDS, they have already supported Željka Cvijanović's veto once, but they have not yet taken a final stance on tomorrow's vote.

SDS President Milan Miličević said that tomorrow the party's MP club and members of the Presidency will hold a meeting where they will make a final decision on the veto.

According to the BiH Constitution, the National Assembly considers the statement of the Serbian member of the BiH Presidency, and if within 10 days from the day of submission it is confirmed by a two-thirds majority of at least 56 votes of MPs, the contested decision of the BiH Presidency does not enter into force.
