NS BiH: Halilhodžić cannot be coach for private reasons

Although the leadership of the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina expressed a strong desire and intention to engage Vahid Halilhodžić for the vacant position of coach of the BiH A national team, after talks between the President of the FA BiH Elvedin Begić and Halilhodžić, held this evening in Mostar, it has been definitively confirmed that this prominent expert will not be the new coach of the "A" national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the remainder of the qualifiers for the 2016 European Championship in France, it was announced by the FA BiH, reports Patria agency.

- As the public knows, a delegation of the FA BiH held a meeting with Halilhodžić last Thursday in Makarska, who at the time did not declare that he would take over our best selection, with the possibility of a new meeting in Mostar. However, during this evening's meeting, Halilhodžić reiterated to President Begić that for private reasons, he is not ready to cooperate with the FA BiH at this moment, but he also emphasized that he hopes to become the coach of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the future - the statement said.

The FA BiH expresses regret that Vahid Halilhodžić, despite the maximum efforts of the FA BiH leadership, was unable to accept the invitation and take over the "A" national team, and wishes him much luck and success in his future work.

The competent Commission of the Executive Board of the FA BiH, led by President Begić, will continue further activities with the aim of defining a proposal of candidates for the coach, who will be chosen by the EB of the FA BiH.
