Newly elected Mayor Irfan Čengić visited the Municipality of Stari Grad Sarajevo

(Patria) - Newly elected Mayor of the Municipality of Stari Grad Sarajevo Irfan Čengić visited the Municipality of Stari Grad Sarajevo today. Čengić was welcomed in the premises of the Municipal Council of Stari Grad by the presiding officer of the Municipal Council of Stari Grad Seid Škaljić and acting Municipal Mayor Mirsada Smajić.

Presiding officer Škaljić and acting Mayor Mirsada Smajić congratulated Čengić on his election as Mayor of the Municipality of Stari Grad and wished him successful work. They stated that a lot of work lies ahead of him, but that the Municipal Council and the municipal administration are at his disposal to initiate projects and business processes, and that they will all work together for the benefit of the citizens and restore the reputation of the Municipality of Stari Grad Sarajevo.

During his first official visit to the Municipality of Stari Grad, after the announcement of victory in the early elections for the municipal mayor held on 29.10.2023, the newly elected mayor Irfan Čengić announced the priorities for future work.

“I will take office in about 20 days, but I promised the people of Stari Grad to work from the first day after the election. Today, I held a meeting with acting Mayor Mirsada Smajić and the presiding officer of the Municipal Council Seid Škaljić to arrange activities for the November session of the Municipal Council.

The priorities are the adoption of the budget rebalance and the draft Development Strategy of the Municipality of Stari Grad Sarajevo,” Čengić stated.

Also visiting the Municipality of Stari Grad, along with the newly elected mayor Irfan Čengić, was councilor in the Municipal Council of Stari Grad Vedad Deljković.

Let us remind you, according to the first preliminary election results for the municipal mayor announced last night, Irfan Čengić (SDP) received 6,707 votes, or 62.88%. The second candidate in the early elections, Dženan Selimbegović (SDA), won 3,958 votes, which is 37.12%.
