New Year's Eve uncertain in Sarajevo and Banja Luka, Brčko brings Nina Badrić

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Less than 50 days remain until the New Year celebration, and in most cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina it is unknown whether there will be public gatherings in squares.

In larger cities in the region, on the other hand, the names of stars who will entertain citizens are gradually being revealed. Thus, a few days ago it was announced that Zdravko Čolić will perform in Kotor, Montenegro.

When it comes to the New Year's Eve celebration in Sarajevo, everything is still a big question mark. Assistant to the Mayor Elvir Hadžiahmetović points out that the budget of the City of Sarajevo has allocated 50,000 KM for this event.

- We are doing everything as if the public celebration will take place, but it depends on the epidemiological situation. We are monitoring what is happening in the region. We see that the situation is bad. No one is rushing into something uncertain. We will have to decide in the next two weeks. The City is organizing the celebration as in previous years, and when making a decision, we also seek an assessment from the Ministry of Health of Sarajevo Canton. It would be irrational to proceed without their opinion - said the assistant to the Mayor, Elvir Hadžiahmetović.

On Friday, the media published information that the people of Sarajevo could be entertained on New Year's Eve by Zabranjeno pušenje (December 31) and Dubioza kolektiv, but their management could not confirm this to us.

- I don't know anything about that at the moment - said Dario Vitez, manager of Zabranjeno pušenje, who repeated this four times.

Login Kočiški, manager of Dubioza kolektiv, stated for Faktor that the New Year's performance of this group in the capital of BiH has been negotiated for years.

- We avoid stories that are not official. The New Year's concert of Dubioza in Sarajevo has been negotiated for six years. The deal is not yet sealed; we don't know when. As for the concert on January 1, nothing is definitive yet. There is interest, but we also have several offers - says Kočiški.

The City of Zenica and the City Administration, through the technical implementer RTV Zenica, will this year again enable their fellow citizens to enjoy a fairytale winter town called "Studengrad" in the heart of Zenica, as part of the large winter festival Zenica Adventure 2021.

When it comes to the "craziest night" in Tuzla, a New Year's celebration is planned, but the chances of it being held have decreased after the work of hospitality establishments in the Tuzla Canton area was limited to 9 PM. As we learned, local bands were supposed to perform at the public celebration in Tuzla.

In Mostar, they are determined to organize a New Year's celebration this year, and priority will be given to local musicians and singers because the fees of stars are too high for the planned budget. Namely, the City of Mostar had an offer for a performance by the charismatic Indira Levak, former singer of "Colonia", but she was too expensive.

In Banja Luka, everything is also very uncertain. Mayor Draško Stanivuković said that there are currently no funds in the budget for an outdoor New Year's celebration, but that money will be found with the help of sponsors. He emphasized that the budget rebalancing has allocated funds for the New Year, in order to mark the New Year in Banja Luka in a dignified manner.
