
SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Today, organized by the Association of Journalists of BiH, and in response to the current situation of journalists and media facing the coronavirus pandemic (Covid 19), a meeting was held with female and
male journalists from some of the leading media outlets in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In addition to journalists, representatives of the Communications Regulatory Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Press Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Federal Ministry of Health attended the meeting.
Primarily conceived as a Panel Discussion: “Media Responsibility in Times of Crisis”, due to current restrictions on organizing events, an extraordinary working meeting was held on the same topic. Key representatives of the journalistic profession attended the meeting.
Attention was drawn to the credibility and expertise of information sources. Journalists also advocated for respecting decisions on employee safety, and in this regard, agreed to reduce the number of journalistic teams at events themselves, and to share and publish information in solidarity.
With support for all governmental and non-governmental efforts in the current situation, and journalists' focus on information credibility, journalists particularly emphasized their commitment to citizens and the dissemination of credible information that ensures timely informing and prevention of panic and fear.
The meeting was held with the assistance of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in BiH.
