Journalists gathered in front of the FUP building: We are not the problem of this society

About a hundred journalists from several media outlets gathered in front of the FUP building to send a message that journalists are not the problem of this society, writes Patria News Agency.

In front of the Federal Police Administration building, journalists expressed their dissatisfaction with the recent threats made by police officers to the Radio Free Europe team.

A peaceful protest was held in front of the Federal Police Administration building in Sarajevo due to the poor treatment of journalists and last week's rude and unprofessional conduct towards the Radio Free Europe team, when they were threatened with "batons" and prevented from filming, reports Media Center.

We remind you that the Radio Free Europe team was prevented from filming in front of the building of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo, where protests by demobilized soldiers were held last week, with threats. After the RSE team asked for an explanation, the police officers demanded personal identification documents from the photojournalist and the journalist and threatened them with reports. The only explanation was that such an order had been issued, which everyone had to obey.

Milenko Voćkić, director of RSE, said that the journalists of this media outlet were not causing problems.

- Journalists are the ones who wait outside for statements in the rain and cold in parks. And they are just doing their job. The position of journalists in BiH society and the attitude of politicians towards them is not at an enviable level.

Otherwise, this is the first action in which journalists have raised their voices against police arrogance.
