Journalists in Dodik's Crosshairs, Who Is Next?

Bosnia and Herzegovina is slowly turning into a police state! What everyone has sworn to be sacred and one of the key pillars of democracy is under attack - freedom of speech, journalists.

Today, journalists from the klix.ba portal were subjected to police torture carried out under the direct political directive of Milorad Dodik, using the judicial and police structures in the Federation of BiH.

Tomorrow, another media outlet can expect the same.

Instead of the police verifying the authenticity of the recording and investigating the case of vote buying in the Republic of Srpska, which is a clear criminal offense, they attacked the journalists who revealed the truth to the public.

Furthermore, the law prescribes a fine or prison sentence for releasing the recording to the public. So, whoever uncovers the truth in this country will go to prison, while those engaged in illegal activities will continue to sit comfortably in their armchairs.

A politician can be corrupt, can bribe, and justify himself by claiming it was all planted by the opposing political camp.

A journalist must not present the truth to the public, must not point a finger at those who are part of systemic corruption in this country.

And while those same politicians are protected like bears in this, our "beautiful, democratic, and free country," journalists are in the crosshairs.

One must not be independent, must not reveal the truth about politicians, about their shameless robberies, shady dealings...

After bringing all media in the Republic of Srpska under his dictatorial boot, except for BN Television, whose editorial board and journalists he has not managed to break, Dodik has now moved on to what he likes to call "federal media."

When it comes to his dictatorship, jurisdictions and entity borders are irrelevant to him. He swiftly arranged for the Sarajevo police to raid the newsrooms of the klix.ba portal.

There have been pressures and threats against journalists before. But such terror has never been recorded.

Is there anyone to stop the vožd from Laktaši?

Or some future vožd who will instill fear in journalists with police batons?
