New violation of the FBiH Constitution by the majority continues to disrupt the balance of legislative and executive power

(Patria) - Today, the head of the Bosniak caucus Muamer Zukić, delegate in the Serb caucus Vedrana Vujović, and I met with the Vice President of FBiH Refik Lendo and pointed out the seriousness of the situation that arose from the adoption of unconstitutional amendments to the Law on Budgets of FBiH, stated Aida Obuća, delegate in the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament.

Article 20 of the FBiH Constitution clearly stipulates that the Parliament is competent for adopting the budget and tax laws. Unfortunately, we are witnessing this provision being circumvented through the adopted amendments in Article 1 of the Law on Budgets of FBiH, which transfer the authority for adopting temporary financing exclusively to the executive branch. Through this new violation of the FBiH Constitution, the parliamentary majority continues to disrupt the balance of legislative and executive power, i.e., it disempowers the highest representative body of citizens from its key competence over financial processes in the entity.

Therefore, we will undertake all legal steps to protect the Constitution and annul this unconstitutional provision", announced Aida Obuća.
