148 new police officers of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior take oath

Today, a press conference was held at the premises of the Specialist Support Unit of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior, where the Report on the work of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior for the past nine months was presented. The event was addressed by the Minister of Interior of Sarajevo Canton, Nermin Pećanac, Police Commissioner Vahid Ćosić, and Director of the Administration and Support Directorate, Sanja Petrović, in front of numerous dignitaries, colleagues from other security agencies, and journalists present, as reported by the Bosnian news agency Patria.

In his address, Minister Pećanac reviewed the results of the Ministry as a whole, particularly emphasizing the achievements in the area of staffing and material-technical equipping of the Police Administration.

Expressing satisfaction with the results achieved so far, the creation of a more favorable security environment, and the recruitment of new police officers, the minister concluded his presentation by stating that all members of the Ministry will do their utmost in the coming period to be even more concrete and efficient in their work.

Providing a more detailed overview of the work of the Police Administration during the reporting period, Police Commissioner Vahid Ćosić highlighted the constant trend of a decrease in criminal offenses and the importance of further equipping the Police Administration with material-technical resources, for which needs have already been submitted to the competent institutions of Sarajevo Canton.

Director of the Administration and Support Directorate, Sanja Petrović, also addressed the results achieved by the Directorate in the previous period and the difficulties encountered in their implementation, thanking media representatives for their fair cooperation and reporting on events within the Ministry.

Following the press conference, in the sports hall of the Specialist Support Unit, the cadets of the XXIV class, after successfully completing their training at the Police Academy of the Federation Ministry of Interior, took the oath in the presence of numerous dignitaries, management of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior, and relatives and friends. With this act, the cadets, in accordance with the Law on Police Officers of Sarajevo Canton, acquired the status of police officers and were assigned to organizational units of the Police Administration of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior. The recruitment of 148 new police officers will greatly contribute to the more efficient and successful work of the Ministry, with the ultimate goal of increasing the safety of citizens in the area of Sarajevo Canton.
