10 new properties declared national monuments of BiH

At the 65th session of the Commission for the Preservation of National Monuments held from March 3 to 5, 2015, Commission Chairman Dubravko Lovrenović, and members Amra Hadžimuhamedović, Ljiljana Ševo, Zeynep Ahunbay and Martin Cherry made decisions on declaring 10 properties as national monuments of Bosnia and Herzegovina, reports the Patria News Agency.  

Movable property – Stone relief with the figure of a man, municipality of Bihać, FBiH

Movable property – Stone relief with the coat of arms of the city of Bihać, municipality of Bihać, FBiH;

Historical area – Necropolis with stećci Kunja - Argud, municipality of Konjic, FBiH;

Historical area – Necropolis with stećci Jesenice - Argud, municipality of Konjic, FBiH;

Historical area – Necropolis with stećci and tombstones at the locality of Muzga, Argud, municipality of Konjic, FBiH;

Historical area – Modro Polje, municipality of Foča-Ustikolina, FBiH;

Historical monument – Šipad railway station building (former Steinbeiss railway station building) in Jajce, FBiH;

Historical building – Napredak Palace (Building

of the Croatian Cultural Society "Napredak"; Napredak Foundation Home), at Titova 56. in Sarajevo, municipality of Centar, FBiH;

Site and remains of a historical monument – Ljubunčića (Teskeredžića) Tower in Voljice, municipality of Gornji Vakuf-Uskoplje, FBiH;

Architectural ensemble – Electric power plant at Hiseta (Marijin Dvor) in Sarajevo, municipality of Centar, FBiH;

At the 65th session of the Commission, decisions were made that two properties do not meet the criteria for declaration as a national monument:

Historical building – Municipal building in Tuzla;

Ambience ensemble – Sanctuary of the Mother of God "under the caves" in Kreševo.

In the past 13 years, the Commission has made 938 decisions, of which 789 were positive and 149 negative decisions, the Commission announced.
