New meeting at the US Embassy regarding the Southern Gas Interconnection

(Patria) - A new meeting on the construction of the Southern Interconnection will be held today at the US Embassy.

Leaders of the ruling coalition in the Federation of BiH, who have already had one meeting at the Embassy, are expected to attend the meeting.

The Minister of Energy of the Federation of BiH, Vedran Lakić, emphasized yesterday that three teams have been formed for the implementation of the Southern Interconnection project.

“The first team consists of political leaders, and this body will decide on the fate of the project, the first meeting. The second team brings together deputy political leaders and experts who are preparing technical details, while the third team operates within the Ministry itself. All activities within the Southern Interconnection will be carried out in a way that the infrastructure is ready for the use of hydrogen,” said Lakić.

What is a new circumstance compared to the previous meeting is the request by the President of the Federation of BiH, Lidija Bradara, for a review of the constitutionality of the Law on the Southern Gas Interconnection BiH-Croatia, which was adopted at the end of 2024 in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH, and on January 16 in the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH.
