New protests, locals dissatisfied with authorities' attitude

Protests and blockade of the M17 main road by dissatisfied residents of Željezo Polje and Donja Golubinja ended for today shortly after 6 PM, reports the Patria News Agency.

As confirmed to NAP by participants and dissatisfied residents of Željezo Polje, protests are expected to continue tomorrow from the morning hours.

As one resident of Željezo Polje told us, they have been dissatisfied with the authorities' attitude towards them since the May floods, and after these new ones, they dare not even think about what will happen to them next.

- How can we remain calm. We have nothing left, we have lost everything, and we only hear promises. We've had enough. The mayor of Žepče, Mato Zovko, went on vacation, and now he has returned. We know that his and his family's house were also threatened, which is why he returned, not because of us – says a resident of Željezo Polje.

Otherwise, road communication to Željezo Polje, or rather to certain settlements, is completely cut off, and the residents no longer know whom to turn to for help.

As Fahrudin Solak, director of the Federal Civil Protection Administration, previously confirmed to NAP, the new floods and torrents have literally destroyed everything that was rebuilt and done after the May troubles.
