New approach can only work if there is partnership

A possible "new approach" by the European Union will only be fruitful if Bosnia and Herzegovina shows sufficient readiness for reforms, stated Austrian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sebastian Kurz in an interview for the portal Klix.ba.

- EU enlargement can only function as a partnership. For this, we need courageous personalities as partners, who will focus on the future interests of their population, clear structures and competencies, and interlocutors who are capable of action – said Kurz, who is visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- I am coming as a representative of a country that has felt a special responsibility towards Bosnia and Herzegovina for years and considers it its obligation not to look away. It is clear that I cannot offer a ready-made solution for Bosnia and Herzegovina either. But I see no reason why the population of BiH should not deserve a functional state that will fulfill its basic tasks and obligations towards its citizens – said the Austrian head of diplomacy.

According to him, there is no virtual crisis in BiH but real problems, and the citizens' demands are justified, he told Klix, reports NAP.
