New objection filed with the CEC against Milorad Dodik

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Civic Alliance will tomorrow file an objection with the Central Election Commission against SNSD and Milorad Dodik for violating the Election Law and the Rulebook on applications and conditions for the certification of political entities to participate in the General Elections, it was announced by the party.

- At the pre-election rally of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats-Milorad Dodik, held in Zvornik on September 25, the candidate for the BiH Presidency member from the Serb people, Milorad Dodik, made statements that contradict the BiH Constitution, the Election Law, and the Rulebook on applications and conditions for the certification of political entities to participate in the General Elections 2018 - GS stated.

GS states that Dodik also violated Article 7 of the Election Law, which prohibits threats against supporters of other political parties, coalitions, lists of independent candidates, and independent candidates.

- Based on the foregoing, it is undeniable that Milorad Dodik, in his capacity as a candidate for the BiH Presidency member from the Serb people, has violated the obligations from the statement in Article 3 of the Rulebook on applications and conditions for the certification of political entities to participate in the General Elections 2018, attributed by Article 1.13 of the Election Law, which obliges "political parties, coalitions or independent candidate(s)" to "adhere to the General Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina in their activities.

The candidate for the BiH Presidency member from the Serb people, by calling the entity Republika Srpska a "Serb national and people's ground," violated Article 7 of the Election Law, paragraph 7, which prohibits the use of language "that could incite or encourage violence or spread hatred."

Finally, with statements at the pre-election rally in Gacko, Milorad Dodik unequivocally violated Article 7 of the Election Law, paragraph 4, which prohibits "threats against supporters of other political parties, coalitions, lists of independent candidates, and independent candidates."

Based on the above, we believe that the Central Election Commission, in accordance with clear legal provisions, must disqualify Milorad Dodik from the election process - reads the objection signed by the president of GS, Nihad Čolpa.
