New attempt to remove Konaković on February 20

(Patria) - The 19th emergency session of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, starting at 12:00 PM.

On the agenda is a proposal for a vote on the need for reconstruction of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina – the removal of Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmedin Konaković, proposed by MPs Šerif Špago, Edin Ramić, Safet Kešo, Midhat Čaušević, Šemsudin Dedić, Nermin Mandra, Amor Mašović, Denijal Tulumović, Milan Dunović, Zlatan Begić, and Vlatko Glavaš.

They signed the proposal for reconstruction on January 27.

At the previous emergency session of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a vote was held on the proposal to remove Konaković, which was submitted by the SNSD Club. Only five MPs from opposition parties in the RS voted in favor of the removal, while SNSD does not attend sessions because the Collegium has no member from the Serb people since January 23, when Nebojša Radmanović was removed at the proposal of the troika, but with the help of SDA and DF MPs.

Also in procedure is a proposal to remove two SNSD ministers, Staša Košarac and Srđan Amidžić, initiated by troika MPs. However, this proposal will not be on the agenda of this session.

Nebojša Vukanović, leader of the List for Justice and Order, announced this morning on BHRT that five opposition MPs should vote for Konaković's removal and that it would be principled.

However, if SNSD sticks to that stance, they will not attend the scheduled session. But everything could depend on developments at tomorrow's session of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the proposal to remove Nikola Špirić from the Collegium is expected to be considered.
