New billing system for electronic toll collection in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina

(Patria) - The public company Motorways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has started implementing a new billing system on the A1 motorway – ACC prepaid billing for electronic toll collection, which will facilitate the use of ACC Tag devices for existing and new users, the Motorways announced.

''The ACC prepaid billing system provides the user with insight into their account balance via the web portal at any time, enables quick and easy account top-up and distribution of funds, insight into the use of the ACC service in previous periods, as well as a display of all monetary deposits. To log into the system via the web portal, it is necessary to enter the appropriate username and password, which the user receives on the specification of the ACC Tag device when switching to the new billing system. 

The system offers the possibility of distributing funds so that all ACC Tag devices equally use funds from a common account, but also leaves the user the option to allocate specific funds to individual ACC Tag devices, i.e., to limit the amount of funds a particular ACC Tag can spend from the common account.

In the previous period, the Sector for Management and Maintenance actively worked on improving the ACC service, which resulted in a new prepaid billing system that will significantly facilitate the control of passages and account top-ups for users of ACC Tag devices. This is the first step towards optimizing electronic toll collection, in terms of adapting it to the user. In addition to the mentioned service for all motorway users, we have put into operation a help desk center by calling the toll-free number 080 02 03 06, whose purpose is to provide 24-hour support to motorway users,'' stated Marin Jelčić, Executive Director of the Sector for Management and Maintenance at the public company Motorways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The ACC Tag device can be purchased at toll booths, and all users of the ACC service receive a 20% bonus on each top-up of funds to the ACC account. All existing ACC service users can, upon arriving at a toll booth, have their ACC Tag device reprogrammed to the new ACC prepaid billing system at no additional cost.

Creating a unique user account enables control over all ACC Tag devices in the possession of a single user, whether it is a natural or legal entity.

The goal of the public company Motorways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is, by introducing the new ACC prepaid billing system, to reduce congestion at toll booths for ACC Tag device top-ups, increase the number of ACC service users, which automatically implies increased traffic flow, reduces CO2 emissions into the atmosphere, increases traffic safety, and contributes to reducing the number of traffic accidents, the statement from the Motorways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina says.
