NEW COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT Police officers in Zenica-Doboj Canton to receive a 10 percent salary increase

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Prime Minister of Zenica-Doboj Canton Mirnes Bašić and president of the Police Union of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of ZDK Almir Salkičević signed a collective agreement for police officers of this ministry.

The agreement regulates certain rights and obligations of police officers arising from employment and based on employment, in a way that fully affirms the specificity of a police officer and police work with the employer, as well as the high degree of responsibility and danger in performing police duties within the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Salkičević thanked the Government and Prime Minister Bašić for their understanding of the union's requests, especially for improving the material position of MUP employees, as a 10 percent salary increase was agreed upon, i.e., an increase in the base salary from 300.00 to 330.00 KM, it was announced from the Government of ZDK.

"The union is satisfied with the signed collective agreement. We have reached an agreement on salary increases, and at the same time, we have retained the previously acquired rights of police officers, i.e., employees of this ministry, which was the goal of the union," said Salkičević.

Prime Minister Bašić stated that the Government of ZDK pursues a unified salary policy, and that the budget for this year already included a salary increase for police officers and MUP employees, just as a salary increase was agreed upon at the end of 2021 with the unions of employees in the judiciary, as well as civil servants and employees in public administration.

"I am extremely satisfied with the social dialogue and negotiations with all unions. This is the fourth salary increase for employees in education, police, judiciary, and public administration since 2016, and this confirms our commitment to continuously work on improving their material position and rights," said Bašić.
