New Mayor of Sarajevo Abdulah Skaka

The new Mayor of the City of Sarajevo is Abdulah Skaka (SDA). At today's session of the City Council, 16 out of 28 councilors voted for him. Ivica Šarić and Milan Trivić were elected as deputy mayors, writes Patria.

The left-wing candidate for mayor was Sabina Ćudić (Naša stranka). She received 12 votes, seven councilors voted against, and nine abstained.

Members of the Commission for the Election and Appointment of the Mayor of Sarajevo were Tea Dreković, Velija Katica, Srđan Srdić, Srđan Simonović, Dado Stojnić, Bajro Biber, and Mira Jurić.

Before that, Igor Gavrić (SBB) was elected as the President of the City Council, and the deputies are Mira Jurić (SDU) and Edina Gabela (SDA).

Abdulah Skaka was born in Sarajevo on December 5, 1983, where he completed primary and secondary school. He is a graduate economist. He is married and has two children.
Before being appointed to the position of mayor, he briefly held the position of Deputy Mayor of the City of Sarajevo. He is the president of the Municipal Organization of SDA Stari Grad.

Igor Gavrić is a doctor, a specialist in general surgery. He was born on November 25, 1975, in Sarajevo. He is currently employed at the Clinic for General and Abdominal Surgery at the Clinical Center in Sarajevo.
