New evidence of the existence of the Visoko pyramids: Material found that will reveal the age of the tunnels

Experts working on excavating tunnels in the Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids Archaeological Park have found organic material at several locations, based on which they will be able to determine the minimum age of the tunnels, as well as when they were filled in, it was announced by the Foundation, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

Samples of organic material have been taken from conglomerates that can determine the age of the deposits and the period when the conglomerate was formed. This will also be the minimum age of the tunnels.

Also, pieces of organic material were found in the backfilled, loose material with which the tunnels are filled. These samples can determine the time when the tunnels were closed.

The samples were documented by the Foundation's geologist Mejra Kozlo, and will be sent for radiocarbon dating.

With new analyses, the Foundation will show the importance of continuity in confirming the exceptional age of the prehistoric underground complex of Ravne. More than ten samples have been analyzed by the radiocarbon method so far, the Foundation's statement further states, reports NAP.
