New Ambassador Field: UK's commitment to BiH has never been stronger

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Matthew Field, the new UK ambassador to BiH, said in his first public address that he sincerely looks forward to working in our country, which he already knows and cares about.

Field particularly emphasized that he loves the Sarajevo Film Festival (SFF), and that his wife is originally from Split. He is the father of two boys and enjoys sports, especially extreme ones - "looking after his sons." 

- We are all really looking forward to living in this wonderful country over the next few years. I am following in the footsteps of my predecessors with the help of a great embassy team - Field said in a video address published on the official Facebook page of the British Embassy in Sarajevo.

He stressed that he wants to help BiH on the Euro-Atlantic path chosen by its citizens.

- The United Kingdom's commitment to BiH has never been stronger. It is reflected in very practical support. Prime Minister Theresa May, at the recent Western Balkans Summit in London, announced a doubling of aid to BiH and the region - Field said. 

We are all really looking forward to living in this wonderful country over the next few years. I am following in the footsteps of my predecessors with the help of a great embassy team", Field said. 

As he says, his goal remains the same, that is, the desire to help BiH on the Euro-Atlantic path chosen by the citizens of BiH.

He added that he wants to talk to the citizens of BiH and hear their opinions and suggestions on how best the UK can engage in our country. He came to this position from the role of Head of the Political Department of the European Union Delegation in Sarajevo.
