Novalić: Reconstruction of Crnaj tunnel only after ensuring smooth traffic flow

Upon the proposal of the Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH, the Federal Government tasked the Public Enterprise Roads of the Federation of BiH Ltd. Sarajevo to, due to the crisis caused by the appearance of the COVID-19 coronavirus and the new business circumstances, initiate an initiative with creditors to consider the possibility of postponing the implementation of the Program "Modernization of Main Roads of the Federation of BiH" in the part related to the reconstruction of the Crnaja tunnel on the Sarajevo road.

"This public enterprise is also obliged to perform additional traffic intensity surveys by alternating passage through the Crnaja tunnel during simulated work execution, and after additional surveys, propose the dynamics of work execution.

Upon the entry into force of today's decision, the conclusion from September 10th of this year ceases to be valid," it was announced from the Public Relations Office of the Government of the Federation of BiH.

- We specifically ask the expert services of the Roads of the Federation to monitor, analyze and determine the method of alternating traffic operation for a longer period so that citizens and the economy, when the reconstruction of Crnaja begins, do not experience the inconveniences they went through during the works in the Vranduk tunnel. The Crnaja tunnel is located on one of the busiest roads in the Federation, and in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and I believe we must not repeat the "mistake" of Vranduk - said Prime Minister Novalić.
