Novalić visits Imamović: Numerous projects discussed

Mayor of Tuzla Jasmin Imamović and Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Fadil Novalić, with associates, met today at the City Administration. During this meeting, various open issues and problems facing the city of Tuzla were discussed, as well as finding solutions in which the Government of the Federation of BiH can help within its authority.

Imamović and Novalić discussed Block 7, and the Mayor of Tuzla received a response that this investment will go ahead.

- It is important to us for reducing air pollution and employing miners, where we were in complete agreement. I was also interested in the fate of the Y branch. It was nice to hear that part of Corridor 5C, Tuzla-Žepče, is planned to be built, which will bring us closer to the capital of BiH, while the remaining part remains in the plan, on the other side, to the north, towards the Sava, Tuzla-Brčko-Orašje.

We also discussed increasing the number of employees. We submitted to the Prime Minister an initiative for adopting a law on the transfer of ownership of abandoned mines to local communities. Here we are thinking of Lipnica, Bukinje, and Mramor. By turning that area into a business zone, we can employ at least 2,000 people. We also submitted that law to the Prime Minister.

Then we talked about an obstacle to investment, which is the federal law on construction land. We also discussed the law on public-private partnership, about the future of a law that should be better than the current one. We had an initiative to relocate the Tuzla railway station to the Bosanska Poljana area, because there is no passenger railway station here. It is causing us problems and endangering lives, which would be very important for the development of the western part of the city.

After the meeting, Novalić said that he is a man who comes from the real sector and likes to have realistic conversations.

- The Mayor prepared a very professional team, structured proposals, we had all the answers and agreed on what to do on these offered topics. What I asked from the Mayor of Tuzla today is to help us on this reform path. There is no doubt that the FBiH Government is determined to carry out reforms, but it cannot do it alone. That is why today we started from the largest canton and the largest city after Sarajevo, I would say the most influential, and we were truly amazed at how many good proposals we heard here today, and we will certainly take them into account. We will continue with this practice. I will be available to the City of Tuzla and the Mayor whenever needed - said Novalić.
