Novalić and Nelson discussed economic topics

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH Fadil Novalić received today at the seat of the Federal Government in Sarajevo the Ambassador of the United States of America to Bosnia and Herzegovina Eric Nelson. Emphasizing his satisfaction with the first meeting with the American diplomat, the Federal Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with the American administration so far and hope that it will continue and expand.

Ambassador Nelson called the year he arrived in Bosnia and Herzegovina a year of great anticipation, especially after the submission of answers to additional questions from the European Commission's Questionnaire and the acceleration of BiH's path towards European integration, and expressed hope for the continuation and improvement of cooperation on the path to NATO. The focus of the economic topics that dominated today's meeting was the creation of a more favorable business environment through changes in legal solutions that would enable a stronger presence of foreign investors, especially those from the United States of America.

"We need to define areas of American interest in FBiH in the coming period and open a chapter of significant American presence in our market, which we can achieve in several areas," said Novalić.

The importance of strengthening the rule of law and the need to adapt legal regulations to attract foreign investors were also emphasized. The upcoming meeting of the Board of Governors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which is expected to be held in May this year in Sarajevo, was mentioned as one of the great opportunities to present the domestic economy. This meeting will gather a large number of businessmen from all over the world, in addition to the EBRD governors. It was mutually stated that the views on the future and economic development are almost identical and that the presented ideas should be concretized in the coming period in order to proceed with their implementation as soon as possible.
