Wedding Anniversary Money Donated to Safe House in Sarajevo

Đemila Talić Gabriel, honorary consul of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Australia and a successful businesswoman, has arrived on holiday in her homeland. Although she celebrated her wedding anniversary with her husband Chris Gabriel, an Australian tycoon and businessman, on Sunday, instead of traveling to some luxury tourist destination, they decided to come to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- We feel best in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Chris loves Bosnia and Herzegovina very much, and this is his favorite wedding anniversary. We enjoyed our home in Neum, and then we were with friends in Mostar and Počitelj. The money we would have spent on a trip for our wedding anniversary or expensive gifts, we donated to the children in the Safe House in Sarajevo with an annual membership for developing sports skills, and two scholarships for students - says Đemila Talić Gabriel, who last night, together with numerous believers, marked the 27th night of the month of Ramadan - Laylat al-Qadr in Počitelj, where she received a Quran and the book "Počitelj" by Senad Mičijević as a gift from Džemal ef. Gadara.

As she says, she is surprised anew each time by the beauties of her homeland, which are hardly utilized at all.

- When I come to Mostar, I cannot help but go to the Old Bridge. It is something beautiful, and I think our beauties are not utilized. Every city has some nice tourist attraction, and it is necessary to bring it closer and present it properly to the world. Surely the number of tourists would be much higher - says the honorary consul of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the region of New South Wales.

At the end of the month in Bihać, Talić Gabriel will participate in the conference "Bosnian and Herzegovinian Excellence - The Role of the Diaspora in Strengthening the Economic Capacities of Bosnia and Herzegovina", organized by the Faculty of Economics of the University of Bihać and the Development Agency of the Una-Sana Canton, with the support of the USAID project "Diaspora Invest", and partners WWF Adria "Protected Areas for Nature and People", the Chamber of Commerce of the Una-Sana Canton, and the BH Futures Foundation.

- I am glad to be part of this conference. Although there are many projects and investments directly supported by the Bosnian and Herzegovinian diaspora, I must point out that there is a noticeable decrease in interest for new investments. The reason for this situation is the stepmotherly attitude of the homeland towards the diaspora. Also, there is problematic administration in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which discourages many investors - emphasizes Talić Gabriel.
