New Vice-Governor of the Central Bank of BiH Milica Lakić

The Governing Board of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH), at its 7th session, held today in Sarajevo, appointed Milica Lakić as Vice-Governor of the CBBH, for a four-year term, it was announced from the CBBH, reports the Patria News Agency.

Milica Lakić comes to the position of Vice-Governor of the CBBH from the position of Director of the Main Bank of Republika Srpska of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and will be in charge of the Sector for Monetary Operations, Foreign Exchange Reserves Management and Cash.

Milica Lakić is an SDS cadre. She was appointed Director of the Main Bank of RS, one of the three main units of the CBBH, in August last year.

The position of Vice-Governor of the CBBH from the Serb people has been vacant since February this year, when the Governing Board of the CBBH, at the initiative of two members, dismissed Radomir Božić, who is an SNSD cadre.

It was then announced from the CBBH that he had caused damage to the institution with his work, and a few days later he was fired. Božić appealed to the Court of BiH and was reinstated to the CBBH pending the outcome of the proceedings, but not to the position of Vice-Governor.

Milica Lakić was not the first choice of the SDS. Her party colleague Milenko Stanić withdrew due to legal obstacles that arose, as well as under pressure from victims' associations who accused him of crimes in Vlasenica.

Milica Lakić is a member of the SDS Economy Committee and a professor at Banja Luka College and the University of Vitez. After the SDS came to power at the state level, she was appointed Director of the Main Bank of RS.
