New Role for Famous Actors: De Niro and Millepied as Models in the New Ermenegildo Zegna Collection

Movie star Robert De Niro and his younger colleague, actor and choreographer Benjamin Millepied, have teamed up as the faces of the new collection by Italian fashion designer Ermenegildo Zegna, writes Patria.

This Italian fashion house offered De Niro a lucrative contract at the end of 2016, and one of the most recognisable faces from the small and big screens appeared on advertising posters as early as the first half of this year. The project, titled 'Defining Moments', is De Niro's first, but by no means last, step into the world of fashion.

That he is not done yet is evidenced by his participation in Zegna's second project this year, this time alongside the husband of the famous Natalie Portman, French dancer and choreographer with an American address, Benjamin Millepied.

Despite the significant age difference between these two models, as well as their completely different physiognomies, the rollnecks and perfectly tailored jackets of Ermenegildo Zegna made these two fashion amateurs truly complement each other in the photographs.

Millepied is delighted with the collaboration, especially because, as he claims, he had not had the opportunity to meet De Niro before.

- He is someone I greatly admire, and it was all the more interesting to meet him. We talked about my interests, his way of working, acting and projects. Next year I am directing my first film, reveals Millepied.

For Benjamin Millepied, the dance star of the film Black Swan, in which his famous wife Natalie Portman plays the lead role and for which Millepied also did the entire choreography, this is not his first active role in the world of fashion. The dancer and actor has already collaborated with artistic director Alessandro Sartori, whom he appreciates for, as he says, 'a very elegant, Italian approach to fashion'.

- Italian suits are characterised by classic elegance, and I have always appreciated them. I think Alessandro will give the brand a breath of modernism, both in tailored suits and in a more relaxed variant that guarantees comfort and represents the future of dressing, the famous choreographer enthusiastically claims.
