New KS Tourist Board but the same problems: Why doesn't Konaković stop the tourist robbery from the Airport to Baščaršija

When the new KS Tourist Board was formed at the beginning of this year at the suggestion of KS Prime Minister Elmedin Konaković, headed by his friend Nermin Muzur, according to the promises of the KS's top official, all the problems burdening the tourism sector in Sarajevo were supposed to be resolved, writes Patria agency.

At a conference in July this year, Konaković vehemently defended the choice of his party's officials for the KS Tourist Board, stating that 700,000 KM had been collected. The municipalities in the Sarajevo Canton did not receive a single convertible mark from that money, not even Stari Grad, which is the most visited part of Sarajevo and the most interesting for tourists due to its culture and history. This municipality opened an info-press center a few years ago where tourists inquire daily about the attractions our city offers.

On the other hand, numerous problems continue to burden Sarajevo's tourist offer. Tourists are targets for pickpockets and thieves, there is no regular transport, nor water, and the best welcome they receive is from Sarajevo taxi drivers.

Namely, it is known that tourists pay up to 50 euros for a ride from the Airport to Baščaršija! Only members of Sarajevo taxis have stands at the Airport. In this way, they are enabled to legally rob tourists.

On the official website of the KS Tourist Board, in the city transport section, it is stated that the starting fare is 1.50 KM and each subsequent kilometer is 1.00 KM.

- Luggage costs 1 KM per bag. All vehicles use a meter and can issue a receipt. You can only pay for taxi services in cash.

However, taxi drivers will not issue a receipt unless you ask for it. Tourists visiting Sarajevo are not aware of this, so they are forced to pay exorbitant prices for rides.

Prime Minister Konaković is well aware of this problem, so he could use his good relations with the president of the Sarajevo Taxi Association, Enver Suljagić, to put an end to this robbery.

Just as Konaković defended his friends, we hope he will do the same for the tourists who leave Sarajevo with a bitter taste of their visit.
