State Prosecutor Diana Kajmaković suspended again

(Patria) - The High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (VSTV) has again suspended state prosecutor Diana Kajmaković until the completion of the criminal investigation by the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Detektor has learned.

After the Office of the Disciplinary Prosecutor filed a new request for the temporary removal of Kajmaković due to the initiation of a criminal investigation, the VSTV made a new decision on suspension. By the previous decision, Kajmaković was removed from duty due to disciplinary proceedings against her.

- Deciding on the aforementioned request, by the decision of the First Instance Disciplinary Commission of the VSTV of BiH, Diana Kajmaković has been temporarily removed from duty, effective March 21, 2024, until the completion of the criminal investigation under the Order for Conducting the Investigation by the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina - the VSTV stated for Detektor.

With the adoption of this VSTV decision, the temporary measure of removal that was in effect until the completion of the disciplinary proceedings ceased, which concluded with Kajmaković's transfer from the position of Deputy Chief Prosecutor to the position of Prosecutor at the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.

Kajmaković was ultimately found responsible for committing the disciplinary offense of “using the prosecutor’s function to obtain unjustified benefits for oneself or other persons”.

According to a previous statement, Kajmaković was also found responsible for – knowing that the verification of allegations in the prosecutorial case concerned the verification of communications of criminal individuals from the “Sky application” case in relation to her – requesting from a professional associate access to documents from the case file, thereby using her function to obtain unjustified benefits in the form of obtaining information that could not be available to her.

The United States banned Kajmaković from entering the country in December 2023, and previously imposed sanctions on her from the same country, as Detektor reported.
