New Commission for Selection and Appointments, then Confirmation of the Government of Canton Sarajevo

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - At the session of the Assembly of Canton Sarajevo to be held on February 25, the agenda includes a Proposal for a decision amending the Decision on the appointment of the Commission for Selection and Appointments and Administrative Affairs of the Assembly of Canton Sarajevo.

The Commission, composed of Elmedin Konaković, Segmedina Srna-Bajramović, Bibija Kerla, Vibor Handžić, Zvonko Marić, Amra Junuzović-Kaljić, Mirza Čelik, did not support the Government of Canton Sarajevo led by Mario Nenadić with four votes, which halted the process of confirming the new Government of Canton Sarajevo. Commission members who voted against had objections to certain ministerial proposals.

In the proposed amendment to the Decision on the appointment of the Commission, the composition of the Commission has been changed, with the new parliamentary majority (SDA, SBB, DF) holding the majority. Mahir Dević has been proposed as Chairperson, Bibija Kerla as Deputy Chairperson, and members Zvonko Marić, Danijela Kristić, Vibor Handžić, Segmedina Srna-Bajramović, Jasmina Biščević Tokić. Elmedin Konaković and Amra Junuzović-Kaljić will no longer be on the Commission.

The new Government of Canton Sarajevo will be confirmed in March, and among the first tasks is the preparation for the adoption of the Budget of Canton Sarajevo for 2020. A Decision on temporary financing is in effect.

After the new composition of the Commission is voted on at this session of the Assembly, the procedure related to consent for appointments will be repeated.

The Government of Canton Sarajevo, which according to the agreement of SDA, SBB, and DF will be led by Mario Nenadić, will also include ministers: Mersa Kustura, Minister of Justice and Administration, Faruk Kapidžić, Minister of Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection, Nihada Glamoč, Minister of Communal Economy and Infrastructure, Adi Kalem, Minister of Transport, Ismir Jusko, Minister of Internal Affairs, Goran Mačkić, Minister of Economy, Jasmin Halebić, Minister of Finance, Rusmir Mesihović, Minister of Health, Anis Krivić, Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Emir Hadžihafizbegović, Minister of Culture and Sports, Tea Mušić, Minister of Labor, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees, and Senad Hasanspahić, Minister for Veterans' Affairs.
