New book 'Albanians and I' by writer Jovan Nikolaidis

ULCINJ, (Patria) - The book by Jovan Nikolaidis, "Shqiptarët dhe unë" ("Albanians and I") has been published in Pristina, by the publishing house KOHA.

Partly an essay, partly a travelogue, partly a political (and sociological) study, this book follows the author's basic idea, which he himself formulates as "a small contribution to dispelling the misconceptions that exist about Albanians."

"They are big, often sinister," he said.

Jovan Nikolaidis (1950) is a writer of Greek origin, born in Montenegro. He spent a large part of his life in Sarajevo, where he graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy. The war forced him back to his hometown, Ulcinj, where he still lives and writes. He is the editor of the magazine for literature and culture PLIMA. He is the author of about ten books of novels and poetry, as well as essays.

Critics explain that Nikolaidis's new book has great value, especially in a time of sinister right-wing politics that are rising again in the West, in a time when nations are again fencing themselves off with high walls and barbed wire, and see only danger for themselves in the troubles of others.

The publication "Shqiptarët dhe unë" will be exhibited at the Pristina Book Fair "Prishtina 2018" from June 5 to 10.
