Night-time break-ins in the Sućeska settlement in Srebrenica: Robbers or intentional intimidation of Bosniaks

Only last night there were no robberies or intimidation of residents of the Sućeska settlement in Srebrenica, because police patrols have been increased. It is understandable that the people are afraid, because no one is safe anymore, whether it is a matter of robbers or intentional intimidation, given that it is the largest returnee local community where about 600 Bosniaks live, says the mayor of Srebrenica, Ćamil Duraković, for the Patria news agency.

For more than five consecutive nights, houses and vehicles have been burgled. Duraković says he is in constant contact with the police, that they are on the ground, and that the circle of suspects is narrowing.

-According to what is known so far, it is a group of five or six people. They mostly break into houses where no one lives or where only women live. Sometimes they take nothing, just turn everything upside down, sometimes they ambush them literally on the way home, and sometimes they also rob houses, explains Duraković.
