Supervisory Board writes to the Management Board of the Health Insurance Fund of Canton Sarajevo: Turković is blocking our work, who is afraid of the 2016 activity report!

The Supervisory Board of the Health Insurance Fund of Canton Sarajevo (HIF CS) has informed the Management Board that they have been prevented from holding sessions by the professional services led by the Fund's director Samir Turković, reports the Patria news agency.

The Supervisory Board reminds that its members were selected through a competition and by a decision of the Government of Canton Sarajevo for a four-year term, and that they have been working smoothly for three and a half years in accordance with the signed contract with HIF CS, the law, and the statute of HIF CS.

- Based on regular and extraordinary reports of the Supervisory Board on the work of HIF CS, the director, and the Management Board over the past three years, the Government of Canton Sarajevo has dismissed three directors and several Management Boards of the Fund - the letter states.

The Supervisory Board has six months left in its mandate.

- The Supervisory Board informs the Management Board of HIF that the Fund's professional services, led by the Fund's director, are preventing us from fulfilling our obligations assumed by statute and contract, all under the pretext of dragging the Minister of Health into illegal activities of banning and obstructing the work of the Supervisory Board and the alleged resolution of the status of our contracts - it further states.

As they explain, these contracts have been in force for three and a half years and were signed with the then director of the Fund. They remind that this is a legally valid obligatory relationship, i.e., status.

- These contracts cannot be unilaterally changed. If there is no adequate response from the Management Board, the Supervisory Board will inform the Ministry of Health of Canton Sarajevo, the Government of Canton Sarajevo, the Assembly of Canton Sarajevo, and the Prosecutor's Office of Canton Sarajevo, because it is obvious that individuals are abusing their positions and preventing us from performing our duties - the letter states.

The Supervisory Board questions whether this is being done with the aim of avoiding an objective and impartial report on the work of HIF CS in the year when a questionable health reform is being prepared.

- We wonder who is afraid in advance of the work and report of the Supervisory Board of HIF CS for 2016 and who has an interest in preventing us from preparing an impartial, objective, and professional report so that everything remains under a veil of secrecy - the letter states.
