An improvised explosive device detonated today in New Jersey, in Seaside Park, before the start of a charity race attended by about 5,000 people, American media reported, Patria news agency conveys.
According to initial information, no one was injured in the incident, CBS television network reports. The bomb was planted in a trash can, police announced.
The race was canceled after the explosion.
Police in that city are investigating another suspicious package near the site where the bomb exploded, authorities announced.
