German Government Funded Project to Produce 60 Prosthetics for Landmine Victims in BiH

SARAJevo, (Patria) – The Government of the Federal Republic of Germany has funded a project to assist landmine victims in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the project promotion will be held on Tuesday, November 16th at the Hotel Hollywood starting at 11:45 AM.

The project is based on assisting survivors of mines and other explosive devices, which includes the production of 60 high-quality prosthetics, above-knee and below-knee, rehabilitation, and maintenance of prosthetics.

The promotion will also be attended by the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Margret Uebber. On that occasion, Uebber, along with the military attaché and other representatives of the German Embassy, will meet several satisfied users of this valuable donation - landmine survivors from various parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and learn about the results of the project which is successfully nearing completion.

Landmine survivors in Bosnia and Herzegovina, men and women, through this project have received valuable and extremely high-quality prosthetics that facilitate their lives and movement, as well as additional silicone liners that guarantee comfort and ease of use of the prosthetics, and also rehabilitation.

Ease of movement is ease of living - all satisfied users of the project agree with this. The project started implementation in June of this year, and by the end of the year, all 60 prosthetics will be completed.

It was funded by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany through ITF Enhancing Human Security, and implemented by the Association of Dog Training Centre for Mine Detection - MDDC from Sarajevo.
