Germany Continues Assistance in Improving Infrastructure in the BiH Armed Forces

(Patria) - Deputy Minister of Defence of BiH Slaven Galić, on behalf of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of BiH, today signed an annex to the Technical Agreement between the MoD of BiH and the German MoD regarding a donation of 1,800,000 euros intended for the implementation of infrastructure projects at the BiH Armed Forces location "Tufo Buza" in Visoko.

On behalf of the German MoD, the annex to the Agreement was signed by Colonel Marc Abendroth, Military Attaché of the Federal Republic of Germany to BiH.

In addition, the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in BiH, Renaud Meyer, as the head of the Weapons and Ammunition Storage Security and Standardization Project (WASSP), within which this donation is being realized, signed a letter of financial transfer of these funds with Germany.



Galić thanked the representatives of the German MoD for their continuous assistance in financing projects that enhance the security of stored assets, as well as the accommodation conditions for members of the BiH Armed Forces.

- Thank you very much for the help and support you provide us in all areas of cooperation, especially for the assistance in implementing infrastructure projects at military locations. With your selfless help, you contribute to the modernization of the Armed Forces of BiH and the building of a higher level of security, both for the members of the BiH Armed Forces and for the local population - Galić stated.

In the first phase of the implementation of this Agreement, numerous infrastructure works were carried out on the renovation of existing facilities, construction of new facilities, installation of heat pumps, installation of new windows, and preparation of necessary elaborates for further works, worth 4,109,000 euros.

Works on the renovation of several facilities are currently underway, with completion planned for the beginning of next year. Within the second phase of the project, renovation and construction of additional facilities, a gas station, a car wash, and asphalt surfaces are planned.

On this occasion, German Colonel Abendroth stated that the continuity of Germany's further assistance in improving living and working conditions in the BiH Armed Forces will not be lacking.
