Conditions for opening new border crossing near Bosanska Gradiška not met

(Patria) - Conditions for opening the new border crossing Bosanska Gradiška Novi most - Gornji Varoš have not been met, as the Management Board of the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH has not adopted the Amendments to the Rulebook on Internal Organization.

The Rulebook on Amendments to the Rulebook on Internal Organization within the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH proposed the establishment of a new organizational unit "Customs Office at the Bosanska Gradiška Novi most Border Crossing" within the Authority's organizational structure.

Proposing amendments to the Rulebook on Internal Organization within the Authority was not possible before the decision of the Ministry of Security of BiH was made, because only with the adoption of the aforementioned decision would it be known which types of goods would be allowed for foreign trade through this border crossing.

The Indirect Taxation Authority immediately upon receiving the decision from the Ministry of Security of BiH undertook activities to ensure the conditions for establishing the customs service at the new border crossing.

The amendment to the Rulebook establishing the new organizational unit, the Customs Office at the Bosanska Gradiška Novi most Border Crossing, is a prerequisite for undertaking activities to fulfill other necessary conditions for the functioning of the customs service at this location. These conditions include assigning a border crossing code to know where goods entered/exited Bosnia and Herzegovina, ensuring IT support at the new location and access to the customs application, creating a stamp for the new organizational unit, integrating the new border crossing into the NCTS (New Computerised Transit System), integrating it into the TIR and ATA systems, and other conditions that must be met for customs procedures. The fulfillment of these depends on the previously established competent organizational unit.

The Indirect Taxation Authority has informed the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of BiH, her deputies, the Deputy Minister of Security, as well as the members of the Management Board of the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH about all of this.

The Indirect Taxation Authority needs 48 hours from the moment the Rulebook on Amendments to the Rulebook on Internal Organization within the Indirect Taxation Authority is adopted, to fulfill the aforementioned conditions and have everything ready for the start of operations at the new Bosanska Gradiška Novi most - Gornji Varoš border crossing.
