NIP Centar: Mandić has been mocking BiH laws for three months, ballot procurement announced only today

(Patria) - The basic and fundamental human right that almost the entire
world population advocates for is the right to choose. Our intention is for our country
as a democratic society to belong to that group of countries, but in the full sense
of the word. However, Bosnia and Herzegovina can no longer be classified among the
family of countries where free people, at their own discretion, elect their
representatives in government bodies, according to the statement from the Municipal Organization NIP Centar.

"Srđan Mandić, the mayor facing recall, who has lost the trust of the citizens' representatives in the Municipal Council, has deprived the residents of Centar of the right to support him or recall him from the position he holds. By playing the victim, he has circumvented all laws that oblige him to provide citizens with the most basic right, all for the sake of the chair he has occupied and the position he has not justified in any way to continue holding.

For more than three months, the mayor facing recall has been mocking the laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

A series of documents and acts have been sent to several addresses – a criminal complaint has also been filed with the KS Prosecutor's Office, but no one is taking any action on this matter. Without wishing to delve into the ultimate outcome of any investigation or control, the documents from the Commission that conducted the recall were sent with the intention that the authorities take action. Against someone, if not against the mayor, then against the councilors or even the Commission, because the ultimate outcome is that the residents of Centar were not allowed to express their will. Isn't that punishable by law in itself?

And how much and how someone is guilty is shown by the latest data. On October 17, a complete specification for the procurement of ballots, which must be dispatched abroad by November 10 at the latest, was sent to the mayor and services. From October 17 to 31, only one letter was received from the service stating "that it has initiated activities with another service that needs to initiate activities for the procurement of ballots". This sentence is laughable in itself, but it shows and proves the entire tragicomedy in the Municipality of Centar Sarajevo.

Today, October 31, the mayor allowed the services to initiate public procurement, and despite the fact that a shorter procedure was enabled, the mayor ordered the longer one, where in ideal conditions the ballot supplier could be selected on November 10. That is, on the day when the deadline for dispatching ballots abroad is.

The Municipal Organization of Narod i Pravda Centar will once again, given that it is our duty to report illegalities, report the mayor facing recall and unknown persons, and it is up to the KS Prosecutor's Office whether they will react or not. Will they allow a curtain to fall on democracy in the municipality of Centar, Sarajevo, and Bosnia and Herzegovina before their eyes with a blatant example of abuse and violation of laws", it was stated.

We remind you that the Centar Municipal Council has already postponed the recall date twice. The first was scheduled for September 17, then October 22, and due to the mayor's inaction, it was postponed again to November 26.

Those familiar with the entire process believe that Mandić is intentionally obstructing the procurement of ballots, in order to enter the next year, which is an election year, and when there should be no referendum on recall. However, precisely because of such relations between the majority in the Municipal Council and Mandić himself, there are no Municipal Council sessions.
