Nikšić: Government still lacks data on the number of destroyed objects during floods

By tomorrow, we will have talks with some people to whom we will offer the position of Director of the Fund for Assistance to Flood-Affected Areas in the Federation. After that, the acting Director of the Fund will be appointed at tomorrow's session of the FBiH Government – said Nermin Nikšić, Prime Minister of FBiH after today's session of the Steering Board of the Fund for Assistance to Flood-Affected Areas, writes the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

Nikšić did not want to say who all will be offered the position of Director of the Fund. First, Nikšić said, he must talk to the candidates. The position of Director of the Fund, he said, is a very responsible and important position, which is why it is necessary for its director to be a responsible and capable person.

– We will not use the Fund's resources until institutions are formed that will ensure transparent use of these resources and that will ensure that money from this Fund reaches those who truly need it – said Nikšić.

The Prime Minister criticized the municipal authorities from the affected areas for still not having accurate data on the number of objects destroyed during the floods in BiH.

– The Government requested data on how many objects were destroyed during the catastrophe that hit BiH, but we still have not received that data – warned Nikšić.

Citizens, Nikšić said, are already feeling the assistance on the ground. A lot has been done. Unfortunately, the Prime Minister notes, the extent of the damage caused by the floods is such that it will take a long time to repair everything, writes NAP.
