Nikšić: It is in the high patriotic interest of citizens for the ruling coalition to leave power

President of the Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nermin Nikšić today received the French ambassador to our country, Claire Bodonyi, and the topic of the meeting was the current political situation in BiH, reports the Patria news agency.

During the meeting, President Nikšić informed the French ambassador about the position of the SDP BiH regarding developments in the functioning of the current authorities at the state and federal levels.

- On Thursday, July 7, it will be one hundred days since the work of the Federal Government and the Council of Ministers of BiH began, and these governments, in this period, have nothing to boast about, because during that time they have not managed to adopt any significant law, nor implement anything that would accelerate the reforms of our country on the path to the European Union. We are witnessing a deterioration of the situation at all levels, such as delays in the payment of pensions and social benefits. For July 21, protests by miners in the Federation of BiH have been announced, which never happened during the government led by the SDP.

During this time, the parties of the current ruling coalition are not offering any solutions, nor are they considering presenting the Reform Agenda to the public, which, it seems, was written according to the instructions of international financial institutions, which primarily seek the sale of public companies. The SDP will be against such a scenario, because the same scenario was offered to the Government of the Federation of BiH, under the leadership of the SDP, and we proved that public companies do not have to be sold to fill the budget. I believe that it is in the high patriotic interest of citizens for this ruling coalition to leave power - said Nikšić.

Ambassador Bodonyi was also informed about the processes within the SDP, specifically about the intra-party elections based on the One member-one vote system and the elections for the new president of the SDP BiH, scheduled for September.

- In the past period, we managed to preserve the unity of our party, and the intra-party elections and re-registration of membership only confirmed that our members still want to work on strengthening the party, and, consequently, on strengthening our state. We will certainly continue to act in this direction, and after the presidential elections, in October, the Congress of the SDP BiH is scheduled, where the updated Statute and Program of the SDP will be adopted, as a basis for the local elections in 2016, in which the SDP, together with other left-oriented parties in BiH, should run jointly - added Nikšić.
